What is a real friend? Prince Ugly is a contemporary fairy tale about a young prince who is cursed at birth, like Sleeping Beauty—only this is a very different kind of curse! Poor Prince William is the ugliest child on the planet. Children run from his face, and even strong men quail. The spell can only be broken when the prince makes a real friend—but how can he, when everyone is afraid of him? A fun, often zany story about identity and friendship, with lively original songs suitable for young voices. With a lot of doubling, Prince Ugly can be done with a small ensemble cast, but it also works as a large cast musical event. 4+M, 3+F, 20 - 50 performers possible.

ALICE ON THE OTHER SIDE
All the favorite characters and 13 original songs make this a fun night out for the audience and an exciting challenge for young performers. Follow Alice as she wonders, and then investigates, what life is like on the other side of the looking glass. Is it more exciting? Will she be more important? Alice meets a host of colorful characters, including Humpty Dumpty, the White Knight, Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, and a Lion and a Unicorn. She even briefly becomes Queen. Still, in the end she comes to realize that as exotic as it might be, the "other side" is no substitute for home. This is a big play, but it need not be daunting. The settings and costumes can be as elaborate as the creativity of your crew can make them, but they can also work more simply. The music is intended for young voices (Alice is the most challenging) and is fun, upbeat and as quirky as the lyrics, many of which are adapted directly from Carroll's poems. FLEXIBLE CAST OF 30+.

ONE SMART PIG
When three young pigs are left to fend for themselves in the big, bad world, they must learn how to survive. With the help of their new forest friends, they learn to forage for food, and to build houses that they hope will protect them from that most sinister of threats—the Big, Bad Wolf. Happy-go-lucky Orville and food-obsessed Wilbur find the work too difficult to keep them long from their playful activities, and find themselves relying on the superior preparedness of brother Thomas, who turns out to be one smart pig. But will even Thomas’s brick house be enough to protect them from the wolf? A respectful yet hilarious take on a traditional fairy tale, with eleven original songs, all carefully written to work well with young voices. An expanded cast of characters, including Mother Sow and various woodland creatures, allows a large cast to participate, with plenty of opportunities for zany fun and comic mayhem. 3-20M. 5-20F.
