Matt Buchanan is a playwright, composer, director and educator with thirty years' experience in the field of child drama.  His more than two dozen plays and musicals for young people have been produced throughout the United States and on every continent but Antarctica.  He is also the author of Directing Kids: A Comprehensive How-to Manual for Directors of Plays and Musicals with Casts of Young People from a Veteran Drama Teacher and Director, published by YouthPLAYS. As a director, Mr. Buchanan has directed well over one hundred plays and musicals with young casts, as well as music directing nearly that number.  He has also worked in the professional theatre world as a director, designer and technician.  He holds an AB in Music from Harvard College and an MFA in Child Drama from the University of Texas.  He has also studied and trained in theatre and education at Moorhead (MN) State University, Auburn University at Montgomery, and Baylor University.  He lives and works in New England.
